Statement of Support for AUT Strike

7 March 2006 - Norwich Green Party supports the academic staff on strike at UEA on 7 March, 2006. Green academics, Green Councillors and Green students joined the picket lines and demonstrations at the University this morning, to express solidarity with UEA academics, whose pay is now far far less than that of high-ranking university administrators and bosses.

Norwich Green Party reiterates its continuing opposition to top-up fees; but, if there are to be top-up fees, then some of that money should go to ensuring that UK academics' salaries are internationally competitive...which, at present, is not the case.
